Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jun 07, 2016 2:02 pm Hi, We would like to change the colour of our cladding to something darker - a charcoal or taupe. However we are not planning to change our garage door colour (unless absolutely necessary). The house is north facing, so a lot of light during the day. We are looking at Dulux Champignon? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is an example of champignon against the brick, or should we go something darker? Colour Selection help please! 2Jun 07, 2016 2:08 pm Hi there, You could definitely go with that rich Taupey colour of champignon, and it still would look good with your garage door. Or how about going darker to the dark grey that you have already on top of the portico to your front entrance? That would look great and not too dark at all since you will be getting lots of sun on that side! And it picks up on the dark grey bits scattered throughout your bricks too! I am always very grateful for the quick responses on Homeone Yes, we were thinking something similar to the portico too, but don't know what the colour is unfortunately. How could we find out, or find something similar? Re: Colour Selection help please! 4Jun 07, 2016 2:19 pm Greville Thanks HGMBuild! I am always very grateful for the quick responses on Homeone Yes, we were thinking something similar to the portico too, but don't know what the colour is unfortunately. How could we find out, or find something similar? Isn't the paint colour written down on the paperwork for the build? If not you can take a pic of it and take it to the paint store for a pretty close match. Otherwise download the Dulux Colour app onto your phone from the App Store. Then open it up and press 'capture' button whilst looking through your phone at that grey colour. The app will capture that colour and give you the name of it!!! It's pretty cool!! That's my house I really like Champignon but I'm a little biased Re: Colour Selection help please! 7Jun 08, 2016 1:02 pm Greville Hi, We would like to change the colour of our cladding to something darker - a charcoal or taupe. Hi Greville, Champignon is a lovely colour, it will contrast well with your bricks. I'm not 100 % sure it will complement the garage door though. Give it a try, if it's too far off, then I guess painting the garage door will have to be done. Your top colour on the portico looks to be CB Monument. That will work also, but your garage door will really stand out on the dark colours. Alternatively you could try Dulux GNU Tan, that will go well with your Primrose garage door. This to me would be the best way to go.....sorry, I have tried to load the colours but I can't seem to get onto Photobucket http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu98/bellao4/forum%20sig2.jpg Email me for a quote to today - michelle@denovoconcepts.com Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour Selection help please! 8Jun 08, 2016 2:36 pm HGMbuild Isn't the paint colour written down on the paperwork for the build? We didn't build, we recently purchased the home so don't have the original paperwork. I tried the dulux app but it didn't work too well, but I like the functionality! General question - can garage doors be easily painted? I tried to do a search on the forum but no joy. They know whats 'cool' in the marketplace now and will have better results on market. New modern exterior always makes a house look good. I like the above. Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fascia’s, roller door and undercover carport. We are are going to paint the roof a terracotta orange colour. After some… 0 4490 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7140 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3230 |
