Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Apr 10, 2016 9:35 pm Hi All, Long time lurker, first time poster We are looking to add another bedroom, rearrangements, and a living space or two to our 50's blond brick single storey house in the SE suburbs of Melbourne. We have three kids, but only 3 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom. A few questions that I have: 1. Would a rate of about $2500 per sqm be a good guess for the portions of where we are adding to the house? 2. Would a rate of $1500 per sqm be a good estimate to areas that we are re configuring inside? 3. What are peoples thouughts or rumpus rooms? Do they just end up being cold, unused rooms? 4. Lastly, can anyone recommend bulilders down this way? Thanks! Re: Home Renovation SE Suburbs VIC 2Jun 17, 2016 10:50 pm The $2500 per sqm for external additions to the house sounds about right.
