Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 30, 2016 8:52 am In some cases when working with a very light, porous natural stone tiles product for example Limestone, Sandstone, it is recommended to pre-seal, before laying the tiles. Reason being; These products stain fairly easily, so if your hands are dirty and you handle the tiles, it might end up covered in black finger marks, that will not come off if it hasn’t been sealed. Pre-sealing is very simple, just take a sheep skin (as you would find at most tile shops and hardware stores), dip it in the sealer, make sure it’s not too wet, then wipe the tiles one by one with it on the face side. Make sure that none of the sealer runs down the edges, as this will cause the grout not to bond with the tiles. One coat is all you need, and it dries very quickly, then install and seal afterwards as per normal. For Further information on natural stone tiles, please contact us.
