Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 30, 2016 12:44 am Hi there, We'd like to do a facelift to our front of house / facade, something like this -> http://www.homestolove.com.au/fresh-loo ... -home-3212 The front garden landscaping will be tackled separately. The work on the facade itself will require ... - Rendering + paint - Fresh coat of paint on the roof - Replacing old windows - Replace or removal of rotting timber beams and pillars Not having done this sort of thing before, i am sure there are things i've missed, so appreciate any pointers. Not looking to DIY, but to engage professionals ... however where do we start? Are we expected to engage different groups of people or is it more common for just one group to take care of everything from design to execution? Thanks, John Re: Facade reno, rendering, facelift etc. 2Apr 11, 2016 8:29 pm If you know exactly what you want and don't need any design advice and not making any structural changes, just updating. My suggestion would be to get a quote from a smaller builder / carpenter to do everything. Then get a carpenter to do a quote for just supply and install new beams. Get quotes from painter for painting and rendering and a window supplier for supply and install the new Windows. Then compare prices, if the 'everything' price is not that much more go with that, probably be a lot less hassle too. Hope this helps. Good luck Re: Facade reno, rendering, facelift etc. 3Apr 12, 2016 9:16 am excalibr Hi there, We'd like to do a facelift to our front of house / facade, something like this -> http://www.homestolove.com.au/fresh-loo ... -home-3212 Not a fan of the boxed entry but the colours and render look good. Re: Facade reno, rendering, facelift etc. 4Apr 15, 2016 6:39 am I think it would be worth getting an architect to do a few concept sketches for you, then get a few builders to quote on it.
