If I were to buy a house say 3 bedroom one bathroom, with outdated furnishings, colour schemes etc. how much would I be looking at for costs of full renovations and possibly adding an ensuite and walk in robe, and updating kitchen, current bathroom and bedrooms... We bought a really, REALLY run down house & made a room in the garage into a studio apartment. We renovated for four months. We pulled down walls, put up a support beam, updated kitchen, bathroom & added an ensuite. We had a friend who was a builder & consulted him or got him in to do jobs too hard for us. We also paid professionals for plumbing, electrical & tiling. Cost us just under $40,000. Hubby is very handy so did what he could himself & we sourced material at great prices. We live in country Victoria.
