Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 15, 2016 5:20 pm Hi, I've got a 7200x3400 metal sheet roof carport (skillion)where I want to remove half of the roof - 3600x3400. I'd like to maintain the other half to later close it in from the weather. I'm wondering if I remove the metal sheets back to where I want (where, conveniently, there happens to be rafter in line with where I want the new end) and the battens are cut away, can I simply put new fascia boards up and place new flashing along the new open edge? Am I correct that the framework (rafter/batten) underneath wont need reinforcing? Or will the new end rafter need altering? The carport is a stand alone skillion, so only one pitch to worry about, and no extra guttering is intended. Any ideas appreciated - better yet, a how-to guide for dummies Cheers, Shani.
