Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 10, 2016 6:36 am Hi We are looking to have a small extension done to the back end of the house. Removing an existing alfresco area and back fibro extension (built 30 years ago off the brick house) and basically rebuilding and squaring off. The area would be roughly 45 sqm. We believe a slab would need to be poured, for the extension. The house is currently 3 bedrooms, 1 bath and garage, with an additional outdoor toilet and outdoor laundry (at the back end). The intention would be to rejig the layout of the house (minor) to get a better flow and gain a little bit of extra space with updates to existing bathroom, and movement of the toilet and laundry insides to essentially create a 2nd bathroom. The kitchen would also need to be replaced. We've had a larger building co. come in and say that the cost would be approx. $150-200k which they say could be less if we went with a smaller builder with less overheads. Ideally, we'd like to see the project through for less than $100k but not sure that is even a possibility. Has anyone got any recommendations for small builders in the inner west of Sydney or know where i could look for small builders? I cant seem to find small business building companies anywhere. Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20354 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise. We are about to build an above ground pool in our backyard.
