Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Dec 14, 2015 5:28 pm Hi, Some years ago I bought a "renovated" weatherboard house in a small rural town. The house is always cold and difficult to keep warm due to lack of insulation in the walls but also mainly because the previous owner/renovator foolishly neglected to use any insulation foil under the corrugated zinc roofing sheets. The roofing is attached straight to the rafters with no sisalation or similar material to trap heat in and keep condensation out. He did actually lay pink bats between the joists in the ceiling but they don't provide a good enough barrier on their own because you definitely feel a sudden drop in temperature inside the house each time it rains. Normally I'd remove the roof sheets and fit sisalation myself but I can't do that now because the house roof is 50% covered with Solar panels and a Solar hot water system. Does anyone know if it is possible to line the underside/interior of the zinc roof with some kind of effective insulating material which can be applied from within the roof cavity?
