Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Aug 18, 2015 4:09 pm I have been dilemma with this idea for a long time. This is a building rush time in Victoria, you can see constructions all around, I can hear new buildings with bad qualities from time to time, mostly leakage. Double story extension is much more complicated than a single floor extension, so I am wondering if it is a bit risky to ask builders to do this job in this construction fever? because they may be too busy and cannot guarantee the quality. Any successful cases please share? any failure cases, please feel free to complain in this thread:) Re: will it be good to do a double storey extension? 2Aug 28, 2015 9:42 am Building a double storey extension can be more costly and complicated with council restrictions. If you want to do a double storey extension, make sure you get a really experienced builder that has been doing these types of renovations. Also, get someone to check whether your existing home structure is strong enough before extending upwards. 1 4581 Hi Kristy Around $1.7-1.8m or around $4,600/sqm. if you PM me your email I will send you a break up in a spreadsheet so you can get an understanding of the costs for… 1 9948 Surrey Hills, Vic 3127 Garage is being built with metal, 3m distance away from my cover deck.
