Must be sooo exciting to see the transformation happening!!! Re: Weatherboard Reno / Build 42Aug 11, 2015 12:47 pm Painters have arrived! I'm really, really happy with the paint colour which is such a relief. It's not finished, but here are some photos so far (it's only one coat of Spanish Olive so far). The wall paneling, skirts, architraves & doors will all be a gloss finish. All internal walls are Dulux Spanish Olive (with the exception of the powder room & laundry which are Dulux Lexicon. Bathrooms will have tiled walls). Five in total (study nook, bathroom, ensuite, powder room & laundry). They are all ironbark with the exception of the study nook which he's made from leftover floorboards (Tas oak). The wood has been drying out in our living room almost all year so I'm so glad to have it out of the way! Here's what they look like so far: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The only other update is that we have chosen carpet. I had a fairly good idea of what I wanted (wool, chunky, loop, light beige colour), but still ended up taking about 10 samples to test. This is the one I ended up choosing - sorry it's not a very good photo! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next to come = tiling! Im also extremely impressed with all those timber tops, what a clever partner you have! They will look great! Re: Weatherboard Reno / Build 50Aug 24, 2015 2:20 pm I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! There's been a little bit happening this week; mostly tiling & the electricians have started. Floorboard sanding & polishing is booked in for this Thursday, and carpets are being laid the following week. Here are some updated photos, I think I will remove some of the bottom shelves from the ensuite cupboard and put a dirty clothes basket in there instead. What style have you chosen for the interior furnishings? Re: Weatherboard Reno / Build 52Aug 25, 2015 10:01 am Treeseachanger Love it all you obviously have a very clear vision of the finished product. What style have you chosen for the interior furnishings? Thanks so much I'm trying not to think about interior furnishings too much until I've saved up some more cash. Eventually I'm thinking a Hamptons/coastal style, but in the meantime I will have to make do with all my mis-matched, hand-me-down furniture I've accumulated boo. My Owner/Builder weatherboard house thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=77475 Re: Weatherboard Reno / Build 53Aug 26, 2015 1:39 pm S has finished the kitchen herringbone splashback and I'm so happy with it! The kitchen is looking very white at the moment but hoping our oven will pull it all together. We are using the same tiles as the splashback in our powder room & laundry, as well as on the bath hob in the main bathroom (all will be laid subway and not herringbone). I just checked out your blog & we have similar taste! Those beacon pendants you posted will be going up in our master bedroom in the next few days so I'll be sure to post a photo so you can decide if you like them. Another similarity: we are 24 & 25 as well! RJ_McGray Pictures look great - I love your style too! You have obviously put a lot of thought into everything. Look forward to seeing more photos as you complete it. Thanks, yes sometimes I feel like all I think about is this house! That's been the good part about doing it ourselves, we can change anything we like up until the last minute. This doesn't work so well when decisions need to be made quickly haha. I'm glad you said Hamptons/coastal as it's perfect for your reno. Re: Weatherboard Build & Renovation - Tiling Pics. 59Sep 01, 2015 2:17 pm Some progress: floorboards have been sanded and polished (in photos below they are only sanded & not polished, don't have an updated photo yet). Air conditioning /heating is all fitted off. Electricians have fitted most things off. Some 'extras' we got are: - a couple of USB powerpoints - strip LED lighting around our kitchen skylight - sensors for the ensuite (dull light comes on under the vanity so we don't wake each other up going to the toilet in the middle of the night) - sensor in the hallway, front door & garage - wall lights in the hallway (for looks) - Data & TV points in every bedroom - solar panels (yet to be installed) - upgraded downlights (according to S, I couldn't care less what they were) We are still waiting on some bits and pieces from our Sonos system in order to get that installed. I've also decided to put my clothes dryer in the garage instead of mounting it on the wall. Our laundry is quite small and I rarely ever use the clothes dryer as it is. Instead we will have a retractable clothes line in the laundry that I can use if it's raining. We just used cheap floor tiles on the laundry floor as we lashed out on the bathroom tiles. The splashback was just leftover tiles from our kitchen We've also painted one side of the house. This is the north facing side and the boards had been bare for too long and needed to be painted. We will leave the rest for after we move in. Floors look amazing - looking forward to seeing the final photo. What wood floor did you go for? LOVE the pendants. Ours will be on a bulkhead too, so it's nice to see how it will look. How many courses is your bulkhead? Ours will be 28c. And do you recall how high you made the light switches on either side of the bed?
