Re: Imported kitchens from China! 2May 07, 2015 7:18 am My husband has been in the cabinetmaking trade for over 30 years and hasn't a good word to say about Chinese built cabintry. In fact whilst looking at display homes for our own build he has discounted any company that uses Chinese cabintry and who won't allow him to do our own instead. When we do build he is looking at getting it cut out by Auscut and assembling it himself. Really cost effect that way. Re: Imported kitchens from China! 3May 07, 2015 11:33 pm Thanks for the feedback lucky your husband is handy will save you some $$. Re: Imported kitchens from China! 4May 08, 2015 10:37 am Yes and No. Chinese kitchens are much cheaper. But you will need to do extensive research and need time to find a quality kitchen maker in China. Unless you really know what you are doing and what you are getting, the answer is no.. it won't be as cost effective. The amount of money and time you will need to spend on repairing things will be unpredictable. By the time you find a quality China kitchen, the total cost will add up and you might as well spend a little bit more to get it done locally. Re: Imported kitchens from China! 5May 08, 2015 4:25 pm Ikea kitchens are from china also but the board used contains high levels of carcinogenics. Masters do have a range of DIY kitchens that are good on price and use E0 Australian Particle Board. Re: Imported kitchens from China! 6May 11, 2015 4:54 pm Answer- It depends. We have bought dozens of kitchens from a Chinese Kitchen importer. My Brother in Law is a retired Kitchen installer. He worked for some of the most expensive kitchen mobs. We took him to look at them when we first went there and he said the quality was great. We have never had an issue and they are so good we put one in our own home, complete with stone benchtops. I LOVE it. We saved a $10,000. I have seen some cheap rubbish though, with chipboard backs etc. If I can get great quality for the same price as a Bunnings kitchen I'd be crazy not to take it (and I do). Re: Imported kitchens from China! 7May 20, 2015 8:55 pm China products are no doubt inexpensive, most of the time you have to compromise on quality and durability. China cabinets come with standard sizes but limited door styles. Just do a research on JSI cabinets or Fabuwood cabinets and go for the one you like.
