Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 May 01, 2015 2:44 pm I live in a house that was built 58 years ago and there is a big eyesore air conditioning wall unit in our lounge room and I'd like to have it removed. Who do I see about getting this removed as the external wall cladding may have asbestos present. I do not want to do the task myself as I do not want to risk mine, or my families health due to lack of knowledge or training. Any recommendations would be fantastic, I do not wish to try and cover the air con unit with something on the wall. Thank you! Jordan. Re: Removal of Air Conditioning unit in asbestos wall 2May 13, 2015 9:10 pm Yeah, asbestos might be there on your wall cladding. Asbestos was mainly used in the houses built before 1990s. Precautions should be taken seriously when you are removing asbestos, it can even cause lung cancer if breathed in large amount for a long time. You can contact your local area council for the removal of asbestos from your house. Need to know your location to recommend a licensed person in your area who can remove asbestos from your house without spreading it all over.
