Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Dec 01, 2014 4:48 pm Hi everyone, My family and I are about to reside portions of our home which have rotted. As we have never undertaken a DIY project like this before we are coming up with lots of questions. In regards to the area around our windows which will also need replacing (see image) http://postimg.org/image/3xsan9ir5/ I'm no expert but it appears that the person who added this extension on has merely stuck the windows onto the exterior of the wall rather than insetting them meaning that the surface of the window frame is a good 20-30mm out from the wood siding. As you can see the wood molding doesn't even reach the frame and water pools on the little shelf it creates - I assume that the molding should be raised so that water runs over the window rather into it. Does anybody have any suggestions to how this could be remedied? Thanks Nick, Re: Exterior Siding Advice 2Dec 02, 2014 4:48 am the window will come out easily by the look of it.
