Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 02, 2014 2:23 pm hi guys, at the front of our house, we have a indoor tiled area around 5x2m that used to be part of a veranda but has since been enclosed. the tiles are on a 1" thick concrete looking slab, the slab sits on the joists, i can see this clearly as there 6ft access where the car goes under the house. so theres a patch of strong sunlight that hits an area of about 1.5 x 1.5m at a certain time of day and this tiled area swells / humps up around 5mm, possible more. my question is, can a tiled concrete slab warp like this? or is it most likely an issue with the joists? when i look under the house, betweeen the joists its clear that the concrete is raised considerably between the joists. any thoughts anyone? thanks in advance Hey guys, what’s everyone opinion on James Hardie linea direct fix to frame? Would this be the most common method and anybody ever had any problems down the track? 0 5151 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6141 looks experimental to me, reinforced screed would be a better option or even better insulate between ground and structural slab. I would not put granite over that,… 3 4992 |
