New addition would be roughly 8.5m x 4.5m on stumps. It is just a basic rectangle which duplicates the existing roof line. We had a quote from a draftsman for $2,700 for plans alone. Not including engineering or permits. This seems very high to me. Thinking that the permits and engineering could possibly add up to another $1,000. I don't really know what to expect as we've only ever done internal renovations (knocked out a few walls, put a few small beams in etc.). Also I have been told that $10K per square is a reasonable amount to pay the builder. Can anyone tell me if this would be within the ballpark?
