Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Sep 27, 2014 8:34 am Hi all We are extending our house to the north. The main point of this is to have a large, bright living space with high ceilings Everything north of the "master bedroom" would be new Do you guys have any suggestions on how to improve on these plans currently? I like them, my main question would be about the eastern windows of the new section. Should they exactly imitate the old windows to bring a sense of cohesion to the house? Any new part to an existing home should replicate it whether it is the type of brick/cladding, roof pitch/roof colour, window type etc. Keep it all the same where possible. I hate seeing where a house has been extended and the new part sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd imagine it would impact negatively on the resale value too.
