Ty in advance any advice or links most appreciated wobbly Design from top down to ground , build from ground up Re: Barge board help 2Sep 23, 2014 8:21 am Usually you install a barge board offset the depth of the cladding then install the roof with a Colorbond capping over the top. From memory they are about 150mm wide by 75mm down. That way you can put the roof on so the rest of the place is water tight from above and you can do your walls at your own leisure. http://shedblog.com.au/shed-barge-cappi ... zincalume/ The capping goes over the barge board which goes over the cladding. You can do away with the barge board and have just the capping but it doesn't look as good plus you need something to cover the ends of the eaves at the lower end of your sloping roof. Stewie Re: Barge board help 4Sep 30, 2014 6:52 am 180x25 or 230x31 treated pine, pre primed and from memory up to 7m long. If there is no eave you will need to pack the barge off the wall so you can run the cladding in behind. Theres 2 ways to seal between the roof and barge. 1 is a straight barge cap that goes over the roof and down the outside of the barge, the same as in the link Stewie provided. The other is a gable roll, it secures to the top of the barge before the roof, the first sheet edge sits in the roll. its a fairly neat way to finish the edge. Thanks for clarifying. Sorry I misunderstood your point 7 6999 Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7937 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12535 |
