Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Sep 14, 2014 9:14 pm Hello again! I'm looking for some advice about the externals of my home. We're going to be getting guttering and fascia replaced and I'm using 2 different people for it. We have an old cottage - I'm unsure who I'm supposed to get in first - the guttering guys or the fascia. I've included a picture of the front of the house to show what the gutter / fascia looks like, from a photo taken when we bought the house - the garden is a little greener now. Re: Which comes first - gutters or fascia? 4Sep 14, 2014 10:40 pm mgilla Who is removing the old? Because the gutter needs to come off first then the fascia. Fascia goes back on before the gutter. JB1 Why 2 different people? Works out cheaper for me that way. I've had quotes of up to $6k. If I split these up into 2 jobs, I save about $1k, which given how much stuff I have to do on the house, is money I can put somewhere else. Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7271 Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6349 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7566 |
