Re: Vermiculite ceilings 3Sep 01, 2014 9:16 pm hey Varcom, ive come across this a fair bit too and looked into patching with no luck. I agree with bpratt. If you do rip it out just check theres no asbestos involved, i had a thought there may be fibres in it, or maybe the substrate could be asbestos. Hopefully someone might know more but i thought it was worth mentioning Re: Vermiculite ceilings 5Sep 02, 2014 9:39 am varcom Thanks - unfortunately the whole ground floor of the house has these ceilings. I'm not sure I want the expense of changing the whole ground floor. Just do one at a time if need be. I still think that rather patching up a ceiling with more vermiculite, I'd remove it. You've still got 4 walls separating that ceiling from all the others downstairs. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. This ^^ We went up to 2.7m ceilings and MJH automatically adjusted all our door and window heights to suit and adjusted price of course. 9 17367 |
