Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jul 20, 2014 10:01 am Houston we may have a problem! Our extension is a little over 3 years old, still well inside waranty periods. Last night i noticed movement in one corner of the shower base. The base was set on a concrete slab with waterproofing underneath and up the walls. The corner that is moving however had been boxed out to allow for wastes to be put in after the slab pour. The movement has caused the silicone to come away and water would be geting in there with nowhere to go. My question is who do we chase, the plumber or the builder? Re: Shower Base, whos responsible 2Jul 20, 2014 10:50 am If you employed a builder for the job and he contracted the various trades then regardless of the source of the issue it is the builder you should be contacting to arrange rectification of faulty works. Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. I have seen poly marble shower bases last in excess of 30 years 1 3042 I've filled, levelled and compacted around 100mm of roadbase in preparation to lay some outdoor court tiles. Prior to doing the final compaction, I dusted the top with… 0 2606 I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 6186 |
