Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Apr 01, 2014 9:18 pm Hi All, I have embarked on a project to create walls for my existing garage. Some advice required! So far the idea is to construct timber framing and to use Cement Fiber Sheeting on the external cladding. Once this is complete render the outside with acrylic texture so it blends in with existing render on pillars. The question: How to attach the timber frame to pillars and foundations so i can render over the cement fiber board so it is flush with existing pillars without it cracking as the timber frame will flex of time. (the people at bunnings seems to give conflicting solutions) thanks for your help Jarvis Re: Joining timber frame to existing masonary pillar 2Apr 11, 2014 8:10 pm Hi Jarvis Just play safe and create an expansion joint then fill it with sikaflex and use an acratex texture and acrashield Regards fabio www.acrylicrender.com.au Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7548 get them to replace the chipped tiles. It will stick out like a sore thumb overwise. Also tiler will be siliconing the miters rather than grouting. Grouted miters crack… 1 4038 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors.
