Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 13, 2013 9:39 pm Hi all I just need some floorboard advice. We had our tassie oak floors sanded, filled and water base polished about 6 weeks ago and the guys used a very light colour wood filler that didn't match our floors so our floors look like someone has just scattered clay all over them. They told us to mop with water regularly and by 2 months the filler will darken. I have mopped everyday and I have seen no change at all! I want to get the guys to come back and fix their terrible work but I don't see how they can refil the areas with the right colour filler without having to remove the old, there is way too many spots to do that! So my question is how else could this be fixed. I was thinking A) redo with an oil base high gloss- would the oil base deepen the colour of the filler enough? B) introduce a stain Are these options appropriate, which would be better and any other solutions? HELP!!!!
