Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Oct 28, 2013 8:26 pm Hi All, We are looking to get a Stratco Veranda (Outback) on the side of the house and have had a quote done for the work, I wanted to ask the forum what sort of quotes you have seen (if you have a Veranda done). The area is ~ 9 Meters x 3.5 Meters + another section off that of 4 x 4 meters (alcove), it will need to be tall (~3.3meters) so it will be a flat room with support "through" the roof of the house (veranda has to extend above the house to get the height). The quote we have is ~$23,000.00 fully install with all the correct building permit. The company is reputable and does allot of this work.. Hope this is OK for the forum, if I could get some feedback on what others have done and been quoted it would be aprpeciated. thanks Vanessa. nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Stratco Veranda - Advice on Price 2Oct 31, 2013 7:02 am I honestly have no idea - and the following may or may not help.... But I have just been quoted yesterday to get a flat roof timber carport constructed - approx. 7m x 3.8m - with a side extension to front door (verandah) of approx. 5m x 2m (haven't measured that part so guestimating)...... there was some confusion with the guy (someone I know) and he thought I had said to quote without materials which I didn't want and will get him to requote with materials...... so, for labour only, he is charging me $3000 to erect. This does not include materials or permit which we will get (I think??). There might be a bit of fiddling and rejigging with this figure once we get down to tin tacks if we decide to go ahead.... but I would be shocked if it cost me another $20k in materials and sounds like we having something fairly similar in size?? Anyway, like I said, may not help you at all, but just thought I'd throw this in the ring . Good luck with your construction.
