Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Aug 14, 2013 8:35 pm Hi Guys, I have just purchased a townhouse in South Perth on a street that runs parallel to the freeway. Part of our renovations we are looking at replacing all doors and windows with double glazing to reduce noise. Others in our complex have done this and only got one quote and spent a fortune. As we are replacing two sliding doors, 8 windows we are looking at a good product but for a competitive price. Any recommendations on contractors? things to look out for? prices that you've paid? I went for a double French door. I also got 1/2 dozen windows replaced I used uvpc . (Melb Vic) I also got 6.3mm laminated with 17mm gap and 4mm toughened low e. My research (limited) showed laminated stopped noise the best, the biggest air gap helps there too, plus both bits of glass being different thicknesses. what I havn't determined is what way around it should be but I think I've got the noise part right for what would fit in the frames (28mm max) the best I could at the time. I don't know them all, the first 2 top of your list are best known. Rylock is a good company, Stegbar is for sale. 4 16239 I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors. I am on a second-story apartment of which the balcony would not adequately fit any bi-fold or… 5 16156 Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7230 |
