Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jul 24, 2013 4:18 pm Hi. I really need some advice as to colour schemes. We are about to renovate our 1950s weatherboard house. We want to replace the tiled roof with colorbond and also want to replace the weatherboards with colourbond. I REALLY like Woodland Grey for the wall colour, but have no idea what would be a good contrasting colour for the roof. I don't realy want to go lighter on the roof than the walls, but don't want it all to look too dark. We are also replacing the windows and doors and these will have a natural wood finish. Any advice gratefully received! Re: Colorbond colour schemes - HELP!!! 2Sep 13, 2013 9:55 am Hi there. I went colorbond jasper. The colour will depend on many things like roof pitch, size, shape etc. I have weatherboards in a tan colour. The dulux match is barn floor. The roof looked much lighter than the swatch, as the pitch is low. My roofer said that woodland grey is the most common colour he installs. Here is a pic..... Www.colorbond.com go to residential and then Colour visualiser. You choose a house style similar to yours and can play around with different colour combinations. But your response was almost 2 months after the original post, so in all likelihood they haven't even realized there was a reply. But in general terms, I've noticed it too. 4 Re: Colorbond colour schemes - HELP!!! 6Oct 06, 2013 8:10 am RenovationsGalore Is it old fashioned of me to expect receiving some acknowledgement of assistance given when asked? IMO, not more common, and acknowledgement would be nice, maybe 20% fail to reply, but plenty of people read your response and I am sure they appreciate your input even if the original poster doesn't appear to. So many people give so freely of their time and experience and their responses are ignored. I am noticing it more and more. Re: Colorbond colour schemes - HELP!!! 8Oct 07, 2013 9:01 am ^^ A sign of modern times unfortunately RG. One thing that is a consolation though is that with some threads there may be very few replies but sometimes lots of people have viewed the thread without commenting so hopefully a few have gained some useful information. Stewie Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10105 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2824 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17579 |
