Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jun 18, 2013 4:42 pm HI, I just bought a period house in North Perth which has a single garage from a very narrow ROW. To fit my 4WD I will need to knock this down and build a new garage. The block slopes up from ROW to street so I would probably make level by excavating to about 300mm. I want to use recycled bricks as the finish. The garage will end up being about 4.5 x 8.5m. Has anyone done something similar or have any idea on cost for this? Thanks. Re: Approximate costing for a knock-down and re-build garage 2Jul 13, 2013 10:16 pm Looking at the paperwork from when I purchased my place, I could see that the previous owners had added on a garage attached to the house. They had it priced at ~$12k to owner build. It required a freestanding brick wall rendered over with a cliplok roof. The garage is 12m x 4.5m but at the back of the garage it opens up to 6m wide. They also added a motorized garage door in that price.
