Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 May 11, 2013 7:41 pm Hi all, Just renovating a 50's house on the South Coast. With a VERY textured brick veneer. We want to paint the house white and those bricks would look terrible just being painted. im not after a flat cement render finish and I'm definitely not keen on the bagging finishes I've seen around (with the brush strokes and too thick, too thin sections) is there such thing as a smooth bagged finish that will show that the house is brick still but will have a sharp 'smooth' finish to the face of the brick without the brush marks? Alternatively a render with a texture to the face? that ages the look of the finish? Re: Render Textures and materials 2May 12, 2013 12:54 pm There are different acrylic renders that you could use but if your bricks have the joins raked out then you should probably use something more substantial to fill them like traditional sand/cement render. Then you could paint with any number of the paints with texture effects. There are so many variables. It's probably best to take a picture of a wall you like and post it here for comment. Stewie That's a fantastic result! Happy you got it sorted out. cheers Simeon 6 8640 in the stormwater pit or the drain? Those dont look like theyd fit in the drain.
