Otherwise as Stewie said if its a little out they will use glue to lift the tiles where necessary. Oh really?? I had 80sqm of 600x600 tiles laid in my own house. My tiler sceeded the entire slab first. He said he would never lay such big tiles direct to the slab. They would end up lippy. My floor is now 100% level from one end of my house to the other and there is no lips on any tiles at all. Tiling 600x600 direct to the slab is the sign of a tiler cutting corners or trying to keep the price down. For a good quality job it should be screeded first! Your telling me he screaded 80sqm? Your slab must be shocking. I dont understand. So your telling me every tiler who lays 600x600 tiles directly to a slab is cutting corners if he doesnt scread first? My tilers use clips mate, ill roll a golf ball 30 metres down a living room and it wont bounce once. As for 600x600 in bathrooms, each to there own. I use them all the time and my tiler never has a problem creating fall. Re: Question for installing 600x600 large tiles 23May 02, 2013 7:16 am Robbie1950 [Your telling me he screaded 80sqm? My slab wasnt bad at all but with 600x600 tiles it only needs to be a little out and you will notice it. Its small 2-3mm dips in the slab that is the problem. With such a large tile you can line up two of the sides but the other two end up sitting higher or lower than the tile beside it. This is fact! I would love you to be able to see my tiles, you would be blown away and would never look at tiling the same way! I do this for a living mate and know what I am talking about! I work on muilti million dollar homes and also your average mum and dad homes. I see alot of different methods and from experience I can tell you you can pick the difference a mile off! I agree you can get fall with 600x600 tiles, but they need to be cut alot which looks terriable and they also become very lippy. I am not saying it cant be done if you have fall only 1 way to a strip drain then it works perfectly well. BUT if you dont have this option then you need to have 3-4way falls and 600x600 tiles dont work well. As I said I have 80sqm of 600x600 tiles in my house downstairs. I also have the same tiles in my bathroom, but they are 300x300s on the bathroom floor to keep the quality of install high! With 600x600s it wouldnt work!
