However, we are in a BMO area, with a rating of potentially FZ, although we don't know for sure yet. I've been told by builders it'll cost a fortune as the whole building has to be brought up to BMO FZ spec, but I've been reading that retrofitting is not mandatory, is the builder trying to make work for himself or what? The bedroom would be less than 25% of the overall home area (I'd make sure of it!), does this give me any flexilbity with compliance with a building surveyor with regard to BMO?
