Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 28, 2013 10:09 am Hi all, I was wondering if i could have a little help with an external colour scheme. We're in the middle of bringing a little neglected 1920s bungalow-esque house back to life. I've posted a pic, but you'll have to use you're imagination because it's a bit old. We've now rendered the bricks, replaced the asbestos cladding and timber batons on the gable, gotten rid of all the security bars and replaced the aluminium sliding window with a timber casement one. We're now in the middle of painting it and have scaffolding up so cant take a picture just now... Anyhow, we've gone with self-destruct for the render and the cladding of the gable and antique white USA for the window and timber trimmings on the gable and around the door. So far it's looking fantastic. However, I was thinking of doing the barge boards a different colour to add a bit of personality, but i can't find the right colour. My other half bought some dulux licorice - trying to go for a modern take on federation green- but it just looks like federation green, and i think it's too dark. We have to do it this weekend while we still have the scaffolding so any advice about barge board colour would be very much appreciated!! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/28 ... 15643.jpg/ Thank you Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
