Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 20, 2013 9:24 am We are getting an extension done at the moment. Regarding roofing I was given an option to use second hand cement tiles which match the current tiles, but I did not want them and opted for new ones instead. The new tiles are also cement tiles but are slightly wider than the existing tiles. I asked the tiler to give me a quote for tiling the whole roof and the quote came out to be $7000 for Bristile yeoman tiles. The area to be tiled is 131 sq. m and the house is a single level house. Is it ok price wise? The tiler said his charges are $57 sq. m. I also understand that new tiles and old tiles will make my house look like having two roofs, but I don't mind it as the extension is at the back and no can see from the front. If I had more money Colorbond would have been the preferred option on the whole house. The $57m2 quote included tiles as well. 2 9450 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
