Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 08, 2013 10:22 pm Hi all, I'm just starting out on my renovation journey and my first question is around the cost of a property survey. We've been quoted $1500inc GST for the following work: • Levels to Australian Height Datum • Boundary Dimensions & Area shown Subject Property • Location of existing buildings • Trees inc. diameter, height, spread • Spot Levels • Kerb Details • Visible Services Adjoining Properties • Location of residence • Window positions (facing the subject site) • Ridge Level • Gutter Level Does this sound reasonable? Any questions I should be asking? Thanks in advance! Re: Property Survey Cost - St George area Sydney 2Feb 11, 2013 8:04 am Pretty much standard survey cost. The guy I use ( he works all over Sydney but lives about 1 k from me here on the Northern Beaches ) charges about $1500 -$1600 for a standard survey and about another $300 to peg one boundary. That means he will put a peg in the ground 1m out from the boundary at each end with a nail in the top to give you the exact point. It also depends how many times he has to set up his theodolite in the street to take his levels from the nearest benchmark to get AHD as that will affect the total cost.
