Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 06, 2013 7:42 pm Hello I'm about to install a floating floor into a 1967 apartment in Sydney. After removing the carpet and underlay I found a sub floor (on top of the concrete slab) that looks cork like, but crumbles where there has been water damage years ago. Have searched the internet to try and find out what the material is, but haven't had any luck. If anyone knows it would be great to find out, as must decide whether to patch it up or remove the lot and install a different sub floor. Would ideally like to leave it in place, but don't want to cause problems down the track. It's brown like cork and quite porous, but definitely not cork or particle board. Looks like it was poured as it's seamless and covers to entire floor. Thanks in advance S Jimbo73 I would use heaps of adhesive on each sheet and screw rather than nail. use as many as you like cheers Simeon 1 4071 XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews. Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 7593 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors. Thanks 1 14234 |
