Re: Greening carport roofs 5Jan 20, 2013 9:58 am D101 I was wondering whether it was possible/practical to build a carport so that plants can be grown on top of it? Do you want to know for academic reasons or are you seriously considering it? I saw an Australian show a year or two ago that showed a green (house) roof that also included the garage. It was quite spectacular but costly. Germany leads the world in green rooves and you could try Googling for inspiration and information. If you already have a common run of the mill carport, then I have to ask "WHY"? Weight, cost and impracticality amongst the other issues already given by others would rule it out.
