Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 23, 2012 8:15 am Hi, Just looking for some renovation inspiration. We've recently purchased a rural property which has a small two bedroom cottage on it. The house is double brick with raked timber ceilings. The combination of the red internal brick walls and dark timber roofing makes the already small (96sq) house feel even smaller. I don't mind the texture of the brick and I'm not really keen on gyprocking the walls as I think it would take away from the cottage feel of the property. I keep getting mixed responses from people about painting or rendering the walls. Just wondering if anyone has undertaken a smilar renovation and whether you have any photos? I'm still not sure whether we should paint / render or whitewash... I'm also fairly clueless about the different products we could look at using, so any advice would be very gratefully accepted Thanks Re: Internal brick walls 2Nov 23, 2012 5:42 pm If you go into Bunnings, they have walls with bricks that have been painted and with one coats of render (so you still see the brick pattern) and 2 coats and 3. That will give you an idea of what it will look like. Have you got photos of the room? Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7945 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5417 3 10219 |
