Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Oct 31, 2012 1:47 pm Hi everyone, I am hoping that someone could answer a question for me, We are about to renovate our home and have had to make an amendment to the plans, so we have not been able to get our building permit. The building permit is hopefully 1 to 2 weeks away. We have decided on our builder and we where about to sign, when the draftsman strongly suggested that we dont until we have the building permit. The builder is aware of the change and has already included it in the final price. My question is, is there any reason why we can't/shouldn't sign the contract now? We basically just want everything ready so that as soon as we get the permit, the builder can start. Thanks in advance Tweety Can we sign the building contract now? 2Oct 31, 2012 5:28 pm Don't sign up for anything until you know you can do it especially when renovating.
