Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Oct 25, 2012 1:01 pm I was hoping someone could help me, I am looking at putting a 3 car garage on my already concreted driveway however I would like to build in part of the garage for living purposes, as will be adding a small bathroom too. Have contacted our local council and they have said that concrete under the garage will need to be "constructed to meet Class 1 (dwelling) standard. My issue is that will it be possible to top up the existing concrete or will it need to be ripped up and redo the concrete from scratch? Would love to hear any thoughts or ideas, cheers Re: Concrete Slab for New Garage....Help!!!! 2Oct 30, 2012 6:43 am The section for the bathroom needs redoing. At the least. you will need to install drainage in this slab too - shower outlet etc good luck yep, clearly mark where the infloor heating pipes are before drilling or nailing 1 6056 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5150 Building Standards; Getting It Right! is this for a residential dwelling or a shed? If its for a dwelling, its out of tolerance and a "mistakes happen" isnt a good enough excuse to just move on. 1 2406 |
