Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Oct 22, 2012 10:57 am Hubby and I went to Hardly Normal on the weekend and put down a deposit on 60m2 of the Allure click-lock vinyl flooring, in 'Vintage Oak Natural' color. Then last night hubby ripped the 40+ yr old carpet off one of our stairs to see what is underneath - perfect timber stairs that have never seen the light of day! Yay! The only problem is, the stairs are a bit darker than the Allure we've just put a deposit on... Do you think we could get away with having darker stairs (the thick timber beam balustrauds are the same dark color as the stairs) with lighter flooring upstairs? Or do I need to see if I can change the color of the vinyl order to something closer to stair color? (Was hoping to keep the floors light so make it a bigger space.) - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Renovated...a LOT. Built in 2013. If you get what I mean? 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Flooring colors...Hmm... 4Oct 23, 2012 7:31 am Thanks! They're definitely different colors...I'll see if I can post pics. Dunno how this will turn out, I'm not computer illiterate but my work computer is :p Here we go: The vinyl flooring: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The stairs (excuse the 45yrs worth of dust): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. It will make the stairs look like a feature Re: Flooring colors...Hmm... 6Oct 27, 2012 4:55 pm Thanks I'm coming around to it now, I think it was the fact we'd JUST put the deposit on the flooring when we found out that was making me bang my head lol. - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6173 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15884 |
