New Colorbond Roof

Got a quote to replace roof, guttering, batons, facias etc on 240m3 home for $52,000 + GST. This seems expensive to me?

that is expensive Should be under $20K. Plus a little to remove and disposal of old material. Keep in mind that you can demolish a whole house under $10K

Thank you. Think builder is taking us for a ride as we have had an insurance payout.

yeah i know. Insurance company generally pay out a bit more money for insurance work however they only reason they pay the money out is so they are not liable for warrently etc down the line. When you quote jobs for insurance they usually quote more knowing this. SO make sure you do your home work and I wouldnt be suprised if you can do it for 50% of the payout figure if you are handy.

That seems way too expensive. We had our whole house in colorbond including fascia & gutter (house is 53sq including verandahs) which cost a little over $27K

Like dirkadirk 55+sq for $25K for a new house. So a small amount extra to remove.

My friend had a new Colorbond roof, gutters and downpipes done for $13K. Not sure on the exact size of the house though.

Thank you everyone. We have now had another quote come in from another builder for $18K . Things are looking a little more reasonable now.
