Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Apr 11, 2012 1:19 am Hi All. This is my first foray into Home Renovation so forgive me for any dumb questions. I have an old 3 bedroom fibro house on a block and am thinking of moving it onto another block and turning it into a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house. The house can;t stay where it is so I either have to move it or demolish it. It has wide Jarrah floors and is Jarrah frame. It is asbestos, which I have to remove before moving the house. The basis of my question is around budgeting. I need some estimate costs to see if the project is actually worth undertaking. What would be the estimate costs for wiring/rewiring and putting in all new plumbing for a 4 bedroom house on stumps. Thanks Joe Re: Electrical and Plumbing costs for a transported house 3Apr 12, 2012 12:37 am Thanks tjilpi The current bathroom floor is cracked and fallen so you can actually see the ground from the shower. So the bathroom will be one of 2 new room added to the house and the existing bathroom will become a laundry and 2nd toilet. All the bedroom only have 1 old powerpoint and the kitchen will be gutted and started from scratch. So the plumbing is for: - bathroom: shower, bath, basin - ensuite: toilet, shower, basin - 2nd toilet: toilet and basin - laundry: sink and washing machine - kitchen: kitchen sink The electrics are: - bedroom: 2 power points per room, new light fitting - dining: 2 power points, new light fitting - lounge: 2 power points, new light fitting - kitchen: 3 power points, new light fitting, powerpoints for oven/microwave - bathroom: 1 power point, new light fitting for XLOne - ensuite: 1 power point, new light fitting for XLOne - toilet: new light fitting - laundry: 2 powerpoints, new light fitting - hallway: 1 powerpoint, new light fitting As its an old house it has high ceilings as well.
