Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement Re: Ideas on facade update please 21May 24, 2012 7:10 pm It's all coming together! The inverted y shape will certainly add interest. And I think the dark pavers will be good, firstly for drainage when it rains (I am presuming your soil is clay based?) and then to tie in the dark render; IMO dark pavers need to be a bit irregular in shape, or have some texture for a pathway. And don't forget for visitors at night it's harder to see a dark paved path, so perhaps put some solar lights in. The y shaped path will make the frontage feel bigger once your garden is more established and as you've said, add some screening. Re the lighting, it's amazing how the shape and size of lights can change a facade, so experiment with the different looks- hopefully the lighting company can show you the different effects produced by different fittings... I love the stone but does it have enough red bits in it? Hard to tell from monitor. Re: Ideas on facade update please 22Jun 01, 2012 7:29 pm Personally I would look at bringing that merbau fence across towards the portico. Changing the colour of the portico cladding from cream to maybe a darker colour to match the roof tiles & subsequently change the gutters etc to the same colour. Changing the window frame colour would help also. Maybe you could bring the portico forward & build a timber shade structure that is attached to it to add interest. The landscaping is all personal preference I guess. Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 1033 Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size.
