Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 14, 2012 3:14 pm Hi, I am a long time voyeur but first time poster. We are currently weighing up options for building an extension/granny flat in Perth and are desperately looking for some input. The house in question has a laundry with w/c and a functional (although almost never used) shower at the rear, with an exit from the laundry to a pergola area with a gap of about 10 m to the rear fence (I realise this is no substitute for pictures or plans, but basically it is a flat, unobstructed 4 x10 surface between the laundry and fence). What we're looking at doing is using the laundry as a bathroom and then tacking on an extension with a bedroom, living room and kitchenette in a bid to save money. We have looked at various 'off the shelf' freestanding granny flats which seem to come in around the $60-80k mark. We were hoping for a build costing no more than than this (preferably less because of not requiring a new bathroom). On the basis of the limited information provided, does anyone think this is possible or have any advice? Also, any contractors, tradies, etc would be very much appreciated. Cheerio.
