Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jan 23, 2012 2:33 pm Greetings, Fairly big home reno in Sydney, NSW. Pretty much a whole new house in that nothing will be un-touched. KDR is not possible. We have our DA and Engineering Plans done. I've lined up a PCA and someone for the CC. Can someone please tell me the title of people who 'Specify' the work details. Recommendations would be nice as well if possible. I would like to be able to go to the builders with enough information that they effectively have no questions. I see this as a way of keeping the quotes comparable. I've been advised we are looking at around $500k so I don't really care if the specification costs me $10k. I have a feeling it may come under the perview of an Architect. I want building techniqes, sizes, qualities as well as finishes etc etc. Hope this all makes sense and I hope someone can help. Thanks, Graham Re: Job Specifications 2Jan 23, 2012 6:06 pm An Architect will help you select finishes etc and be able to specify them. If you know exactly what you want and just want someone to write the specification a Quantity Surveyor could do that. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Job Specifications 4Jan 28, 2012 8:01 am Who drew up your plans - an Architect or Draftie ? Whoever it was I'd get them to draw up your detailed specs as they would be more familiar with all the details of your specific job, Stewie Thanks for your reply! All valid points and I agree with you on many of them.
