Educate me and I will learn along the way. I am looking for new flooring for my house in which we will be moving in May 2012. I am looking to out laminate floor or vinyl. Approx, it is 70 M2. I went to Harvery Norman $59 + installation $30 + removal of old carpet flooring for $4 for per M2 Pros and cons of vinyle floor is my main concern. The one I have in kitchen floor is very bad. My style is contemporary. I want to learn all about flooring so any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance. Re: Hello to all from new member and more on flooring pls. 6Jan 20, 2012 10:44 am When you say 'laminate' flooring I guess you mean a floating floor. I deliberately avoided them because I have dogs and feared they might scratch the coating plus I have seen a carving knife dropped in the middle of a floating floor digging a chip out of it that would cost a small fortune to repair/replace. For wear rating in my opinion, there is no comparison between porcelain tiles against vinyl and floating floors. Arfur A question. Im in Queensland and building a new home.
