Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 23, 2011 7:44 pm Hi everyone, We recently purchased a queenslander on a sloping block that has already been excavated under (at legal height), with necessary retaining wall, appropriately engineered slab and plumbing (shower, toilet laundry are already built in downstairs) The space is currently used as a workshop and a tandem garage but we are looking to shift the cars out and basically build a 1 bed "flat" (although we will use it as rumpus/guest room) I was wondering if anyone had any advise on a rough per sqm cost for this type of work given that the slab and plumbing are already in place, we have (mostly ) designed around supports to incorporate them into walls etc... and the entire works is under the main house and hence no roof/ceiling issues. The total square metre-age (meterage seems easier if less "English" will be around 70sqm. We are getting quotes, however I just wanted a bit of "preparation" and internal expectation setting before we started getting builders in. Thanks Greg Petercurtis You able to contact the certifier and get a copy of your structural plans, if they are not in your contract. If your home was approved via CDC then they… 1 20184 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16156 4 5121 |
