My floor is off white , we're looking for something of a warm brown which is not too dark since it will be the same colour for the whole house ( except a few feature walls ) . We have been looking at the following(all Dulux, full strength ) but are very confused: Hog bristle Buff it Light Rice Shetland Lace Can someone please help. We want a light brown ,kind of a latte colour ..any suggestions pls Rgds Resh Re: Interior Wall Colour 4Nov 16, 2011 3:32 am Why not try some sample pots of your colours in half strength? Its only a few dollars but you will save heaps in being disappointed. Its a personal thing but Ive found the majority of colours on colour cards seem too rich and my last couple of homes Ive always chosen my colour but had it half strength. I've tried it on a white chart paper & it looks fine but not sure if it will have the same effect on a wall.. Hope it doesnt end up looking different Re: Interior Wall Colour 6Nov 17, 2011 8:03 pm Quote: unfortunately we cannot try it on the walls as the house is under construction OK. Surely there are some large pieces of gyprock off-cut laying around your (or nearby) home you can paint and use as a guide from room to room? Or even visit a gyprock supplier and get a part broken sheet? Obviously the bigger the better. Arfur Re: Interior Wall Colour 10Nov 21, 2011 3:35 pm We have Buff It in Half strength in the bedrooms and quarter strength in the living areas. Good neutral which is what I was after. I wasn't totally taken with it at first, but it is growing on me, also our house still has no furniture or proper flooring in it yet so it never looks quite as good. Another idea is Sandy Day. Re: Interior Wall Colour 11Nov 21, 2011 9:43 pm Hi Steph, yes have seen Sandy day too. Prefer Buff it to it . Have seen another colour , Dulux Male which is also quiet good....phew , never knew choosing colour would be so difficult !! will go through all these again & hopefully finalise one soon .. Tell me about it I didn't have a clue, thankfully a friend of mine is doing an interior design course and helped make my mind up. So glad I didn't do different colours in every room, must admit the different strengths for different rooms seems to be working well so far. Mind you we still aren't living in the house yet so my mind my change once we are in!! I am looking for someone who might have tackled a similar issue as me.
