Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 06, 2011 4:38 pm I have a 2 bed, 1 bath (+ sunroom, lounge, kitchen, dining and sleepout) 1930s Queenslander that I will basically need to raise and build under to convert it into a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, study, open plan kitchen/dining/living, laundry and rumpus. I think this will basically be a demolition from the front door onwards (we are in a DCP area so have to keep the very front of the house for the character) and building brand new for everything, rather than a renovation of existing rooms. Has anyone done this sort of large-scale project recently, and if so, are you able to give me a ballpark cost? I have yet to approach builders as I am still sourcing recommendations. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I know it will be expensive I just need to know HOW expensive! It is a flat block and access will be good if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance. Edited to add that the house is in the Brisbane inner suburbs.
