I scrapped off popcorn ceiling. The concrete is very smooth, but I have to level the joints. What is the best way of doing this? Should I use any special sealant for the very small gaps between the joins? My plan is to use sealant paint, install some nice corners and paint it. By the way how much would gyprock ceiling for room 3x3.5 cost. I am wondering if gyprock would be cheaper as this is quite hard work. Thanks Jiri Re: Best way to level concrete ceiling joints 2Oct 24, 2011 6:58 pm You don't say how many joints there are but its hard to hide them due to glancing light effects. This can show the joints in gyproc unless its installed well but will probably be much worse for the painted concrete. Re: Best way to level concrete ceiling joints 3Oct 24, 2011 10:36 pm Hi. There are about 3 joints in the concrete ceiling. It seems that the concrete is leveled, but there is a little bit extra concrete between the joints. Probably leftovers from between the concrete form. As I removed the popcorn ceiling I am not sure if I should send off the joins and paint it or go with gyprock. Thanks Re: Best way to level concrete ceiling joints 4Oct 25, 2011 5:27 am I would have thought you will get a much better surface with gyproc The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
