Here is existing plan:
and here are the planned changes:
Some slight changes since these plans were drawn up are:
The window in the kitchen is a bifold servery one.
The doors to the deck are now french doors, with side lites.
The door to the study has been moved to the other side and a pantry has been added which juts into the study space.
I think that is all.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a huge change. Have lots of $ ready.
If you have some space on the side of the house, What about making the laundry off the family room, changing the locn of study and shape of the kitchen?

We have a builder at our hands who will help us at no charge if we owner build, as he owes us a few favours. Also have electricians, plasterers and roof tilers willing to work at no labour so will cut costs there.
We are already at the limit of how far we can go out sideways. it is only a 420sq metre block so not much room to move. We are also in a heritage overlay area so cannot change the facade.

I love this reno plan! well done.
I'd prefer a sliding door to the laundry from the kitchen, that's just my preference there. And why not have the shower simply face the main body of the room, rather than around the corner. I think the more "open space" in smaller bathrooms should be considered.
good luck with it all!

Big Changes - Looks great.
I think I agree with the shower idea that Annietom suggested. I also like the changes that you have already made that aren't on the plan (e.g. the kitchen servery window will be fantastic).
I would consider changing the double doors into the rumpus into sliding doors. It allows you to utilize the space on those walls better.
All the best - free labour sounds sensational!!

Free labour is sensational, but we do work for them in return in our own business, so there is some trade off.
Can't switch the door to the study because the pantry is there. It does make the space in the family area harder to work with, but we are just going to have a couple of armchairs and a coffee table there anyway, as a bit of a coffee/tea chat area. For the main part, we will use the larger rumpus for our big couches and tvs etc.
Good idea re the shower, I will play around with that and see what I can do. Mores sliding doors could also work better so I will also play around with those.
