Its going to be a window splashback. The glass went in on thursday but i didnt take any pics because I have put the protective carpet back down, and the room doesnt look as good as it did on wednesday. Fingers crossed we will have the kitchen in in a fortnight or so and I'll post some pics then. Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 46Dec 04, 2011 8:34 am Massive week for us this week, the Christmas close-down looms and ready or not here we come. We lose our rental in 2 weeks today so if the summer break wasn't bad enough, being homeless is a great motivator to get it done. Problem is that as we all know often we are not the masters of our own destiny when it come to renovating. For example my SS phones me last Wednesday in a flap, 'where are the tiles? I expected to see tiles! Well the tiles ain't laid because you didn't fit the arcs a bloody week ago so my tiler had to move on to his next job! So when I'm delayed its a catastrophe when hes delays me.... ohh its just how this game goes...grrrrrr. anyway, count how many balls I have in the air this week. I have to paint the WHOLE inside .......................this week I have ALL the cabinetry arriving/installed ............this week i have ALL the plumbing to be fitted off ...............this week I have the HWS installed ....................yep..........this week I have my tiling being continued...........................this week I have the fix in the whole house being done..........this week I have all my appliances being delivered and fitted...this week I know there is something I have forgotten ..but there is so much going on NEXT week if I keep going my heads gonna explode.......this week. Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 47Dec 04, 2011 4:53 pm That concrete looks just fantastic. In fact that whole area is just gorgeous. Looks like you are going to have your B..t hanging out this week . Good Luck. I have a feeling that come Christmas day you are going to be well and truly exhausted. So make sure the fridge is on and the beer cold becuase I think your going to need it. Cant wait to send the next lot of pics. Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 48Dec 05, 2011 8:34 am Looks like you're going to be kind of busy....this week Hoping it all goes smoothly for you, and I agree with Charnley - keep the beer fridge handy. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 49Dec 05, 2011 9:54 am Best of luck ... of course you won't have time to read this For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 50Dec 06, 2011 7:20 pm time to read yes... I think 16 hours at the house is long enough for 1 day. Good news is the tiling in the ensuite was all but finished today, just some calking to do after the shower screen gets fitted. On that topic I was wondering (might post a seperate question on this) how much is a frameless shower screen for a 900x1200 shower gonna cost me? I have the added problem that I need it in 2 weeks...yep in the run up to the christmas close down. The guy I have given the go ahead to has really helped me out and says he can get it to me in that time, but he seems really expensive....like I have any option at this point. Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 51Dec 06, 2011 7:46 pm Got to love the long days and nights trying to get the place finished!! Good luck. A 1000x1000 fully frameless is costing us $1700. We had to order it by Monday to get in before Christmas, however we are moving in before then, just showering without a showerscreen!! Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 53Dec 07, 2011 5:33 pm It should be legal to smack your SS in the face...just once or twice during the contract period, maybe I should do this as a poll Today we had our Kitchen started YAY.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ..........you would think. At about 10am my menopausal SS arrives and without so much as a Gday he starts with a tirade of you cant do this ....what are you doing to ME!... What was his problem????? Get this....... he was upset that I had a cabinetmaker on site while his chippie was installing some doors in another part of the room...and some arcs and skirts that should have been installed weeks ago. Has anyone ever heard something so ridiculous? My cabinet maker was astonished...in the fixing stage its common to have a dozen trades tripping/working alongside each other to get it done. I will be taking this a lot further...but just for now i need the plumbing fitoff next week ...before we move in... Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 54Dec 07, 2011 6:13 pm man, you've had hassles with this reno bet you'll be glad when it's all done and dusted https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 55Dec 09, 2011 7:42 pm Ok its friday so how did i go? sceen7 Massive week for us this week count how many balls I have in the air this week. I hope the concrete floor final polish doesn't generate any dust/grit. Good luck with it all. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 57Dec 09, 2011 7:51 pm Casa2 The timber floor finishes want the house to themselves for the best part of the week. I hope the concrete floor final polish doesn't generate any dust/grit. Good luck with it all. Yes I thought that too, but my timber floor guy is using a product that we can walk on in 24 hours and if carefull can bring furniture in the next day ...not that we will it will have 3 lol. I will find out what product he is using and post it next week. He really knows his stuff and I got him from several different recommended sources. As for the concrete polish its just a buff and wax process so it wont generate too much dust and we can close off the two floor areas. pics next week Re: The 60 thousand dollar step 59Dec 09, 2011 8:21 pm I honestly dont know Casa..I will ask on monday. We were going to go with the bona traffic product and had several quotes varying wildly in price...and the process took over 5 days. Our guy doesnt think the bona product is worth it and has had some trouble with its durability claims. I'll let you know what we are using on monday. It is a poly/tung oil mix that has the best of both worlds. Our guy did the final laying on Monday, sand on Tuesday, first polish on Wednesday, quick sand and final polish on Thursday, we walked on it Friday night and moved in on Saturday (as in the one just gone ). We aren't putting any furniture on it till the end of this week as we just don't want to rush it and we are happy to have at least a bedroom to ourselves. As for your SS... how precious can he be??? We had five trades here one day in the fit out stage, and they just all dealt with it! Hope it goes well this week and you are in next weekend. the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11799 Do I need to concern about this pattern of crack?
